State of California, Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA) and Community Care Licensing agencies.
Students are interactive with the Instructor, Catherine Hicks as she shares her 30+ yrs. expertise
in the licensed childcare world of training childcare providers.

The 8-hour EMSA approved Preventive Health Practices class includes:
Infectious Disease Control
Childhood Injury Prevention
Lead Poisoning Prevention
This 8-hour Preventive Health Practices course satisfies the health & safety component
to complete the 16-hour training with the 8-hour CPR/AED & First Aid training.
Licensed Child Care facilities in the State of California
need the following classes:
8-hours: *EMSA-approved Pediatric & Adult CPR, First Aid & AED
(American Heartsaver-8 hours, American Red Cross-8 hours or *EMSA CPR/AED & First Aid-8 hours)
**Beware of training agencies offering classes that are less than the full 8-hours!
8-hours: *EMSA-approved- Preventive Health Practices.
Infectious Disease Control, Childhood Injury Prevention, Lead Poisoning Prevention & Child Nutrition

EMSA Preventive Health Practices have no expiration at this time.
**Beware of training agencies offering 1st time or renewing certification in less than the required 8-hours of training!
Classes must total 8-hours in-person or blended online/in-person.
Always check to make sure you have scheduled with a Community Care Licensing approved training agency.
Many child care providers have been cited for lack of a licensing approved
certification and wasted their time & money too!
